Cloud9 is a premier North American Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CSGO) team. Established in October of 2014, Cloud9 currently competes in the ESL Pro League and other premier tournaments around the world. With consistent success, Cloud9 has become one of the most popular CSGO teams in the world.
Cloud9 is one of the most dominant CSGO clans in the world. They have accumulated numerous championships and accolades, and their fan base is incredibly loyal. The clan was founded in October 2009 by Jordan “n0thing” Gilbert and Adam “friberg” Friberg, two former members of Counter-Strike 1.6 team Xtreme Gaming.
Cloud9 has a long history of producing top talent and has been home to some of the biggest names in CSGO, such as Nathan “NBK” Schmitt, Richard “shox” Papillon, Timothy “autimatic” Ta and tarik “tarik” Celik. Cloud9 is also one of the most active clans in terms of tournament participation; they have competed in every major CSGO event since 2013.
The team’s early success came from their strong teamwork and coordination which allowed them to consistently place high in tournaments. However, Cloud9’s biggest claim to fame is their record-breaking victory at the 2018 ELEAGUE Major Championship which secured them $1 million worth of prize money.
